Social Media in Ghana and around the world has exploded again following a powerful response from a Ghanaian ‘French Scholar’, to President Nana Akufo-Addo’s recent French comment ( l’argent n’aime pas le bruit).
In Ghana; Just as Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin’s recent ‘heated comment’ (you are a villager or a witch if you speak against the president) is about ‘cooling down’, another ‘bombshell’ has been released.
President Nana Akufo-Addo; during his recent state of the nation address (following the increasing economic hardship in the country), said many things which disappointed Ghanaians; but the one that ‘woke the beast’ in them, was when he made the french statement; “l’argent n’aime pas le bruit, to wit”; which he translated in English, saying “money does not like noise”, or in Akan language, “sika mpɛ dede”.
Again in a tweet, President Nana Addo said, “Fellow Ghanaians, as the French would say, l’argent n’aime pas le bruit, to wit, money does not like noise, sika mpɛ dede. Where there is chaos, where there is noise, where there is unrest, you will not find money”.
Reacting to this, Mr. Kwasi Kyei Darwkah, a broadcast journalist (who revealed, that is also a ‘French Scholar’) said, he was disappointed and heart-broken when he heard the president making such a french comment.
Mr. Kwasi Kyei Darwkah, also known as ‘KKD’, stated that, after surrounding himself with ‘thieve;, and leading the entire country into great mess, the president has no right telling Ghanaians, to stop making ‘noise’ on the failed economy and the continues fall of the Ghana cedi.
According to him, some people in this Nana Addo’s government are not just corrupt…they are ‘thieves’; and that we should stop referring to therm as ‘corrupt people’, but as ‘thieves.
Speaking on JoyNews, he added that, all these people in the Nana Addo-Bawumia’s government have veins filled with ‘criminalities’; and no matter where you place them in government…they will find a ‘loophole’ to steal from the State; and that, their leader, President Nana Addo is the Overseer of their ‘thievery’.
Reacting to the president Nana Addo’s french statement; “l’argent n’aime pas le bruit, (money does not like noise), KKD said the president should have said; l’argent n’a pas d’odeur; which in English means, ‘money has no smell’.
In his simple interpretation, KKD said, money has no smells; in relation to the Nana Addo’s failed government means, ‘money is money’ and it doesn’t matter how it was made…it is money.
He explained further that, in relation to Nana Addo leadership, l’argent n’a pas d’odeur; (money has no smell) shows how he (Nana Addo), is careless about how the he and his people in Government makes their money…
He added that, to president Nana Addo, “it doesn’t matter who made money in his government, where the person got it from; whether the person is corrupt or not…’money has no smell’; President Nana Addo has no smell for corruption…he simply dont care about the ‘thieves surrounding him in the NPP government.
