Menstruation is the monthly occurrence of normal vaginal bleeding in women. Your body is capable of conceiving at any time of the month. If a pregnancy does not occur, the uterus (or womb) loses its lining. Both blood and uterine tissue comprise menstrual flow. However there are certain dangerous acts ladies shouldn’t indulge in while in their period as it could be detrimental to their health.

According to an article published on the Healthline website, the following activities should be avoided during menstruation.

1. Not replacing your pad frequently

Hooked water is ideal for the development of bacteria and yeast, and chronic pad usage has been related to several ailments. Wetness and friction may increase the likelihood of discomfort and possibly pad rash, both of which can result in an infection. If you don’t change your pads often (every 5-7 hours), you increase your chance of contracting infectious illnesses and vaginal yeast infections, which frequently cause a foul odor. Even if you just have a little flow, it is safe to replace your pad periodically.

2.Consumption of alcoholic beverages

Alcohol includes a chemical that is toxic to the heart, kidneys, lungs, brain, and other vital organs, and sadly, many women engage in this activity. Menstrual cycles have been related to excessive alcohol consumption. Because alcohol temporarily elevates estrogen and testosterone levels, it may interfere with the normal cyclical fluctuations in hormone levels required for ovulation. Consequently, your menstrual cycle may become erratic.

3. Pharmaceutical Errors

Cocaine is a common illegal substance with negative effects. Regular cocaine use has been associated to modifications in the menstrual cycle, changes in sex hormone levels, and the termination of ovulation. Several prescription and nonprescription medicines have been demonstrated to alter menstruation. Aspirin and other anticoagulant drugs are frequent examples. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) include, among others, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) and naproxen (Aleve).
