Stephen Asamoah Boateng has made a rallying call on his party the NPP to develop a united front without which they won’t be able to develop Ghana. Asabee as he is popularly known is lacing his boots to contest for the national chairmanship position of the ruling party. He noted that they will only be able to retain power if they work together in unity and harmony.
The immediate-past Director-General of the State Interest and Governance Authority (SIGA) made this known in an interview on Angel 102.9 FM yesterday. “To develop the nation, the NPP government should convene and discuss what will benefit the nation and who they want as the flagbearer, to win the subsequent election,” he said. He also said he will ensure things are rightly done if elected as chairman.
It seems the message of unity is being preached by all the aspirants who are preparing to contest for positions in their upcoming national elections. Does that suggest they have acknowledged the fact that there are some divisions within the party? Only time will tell.
