Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle constituency, Zanetor Agyeman Rawlings’ appeal to the National Democratic Congress, though a thoughtful initiative, did and has not sounded well to the ears of many. As at now, no bigwig from the camp of the National Democratic Congress has reacted to this matter. This silence could mean there is some deliberations ongoing.
However, a fresh and strong force from the self created camp of Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings has come out to make Zanetor’s dream to still exist as a dream. The General Secretary of the party founded by Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, National Democratic Party, has publicly made it clear that they will not allow their founder leave the party.
“The factors that led to her leaving the party still persist, and I do not see Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings returning to the party.
“As far as the NDP is concerned, we don’t see her leaving the party and we won’t watch her leave the party. Besides, what has the NDC done to merit her return”, he added.
This opposition alone, though from a small group, could have a serious legal reason for that acclamation. The only one who can clarify the matter is Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings herself. She must come out personally to appeal her return into the party. That decision alone will surely give her a chance in the party. Because after all, who is the chairman of the NDC or the General Secretary of the NDC to say that he will not allow her back into the party.
