Today, Wednesday, July 28, 2021, Captain Smart took time to pay glowing tributes to former and first president of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah. According to Captain Smart, Ghanaians cannot easily forget Kwame Nkrumah for the legacy he left behind. He explained that all the presidents that came after Nkrumah have done nothing much.
Captain Smart threw shades at all presidents of the Fourth Republic. He noted that their tenures of presidency cannot be compared to the one of Nkrumah. He sent strong warnings to presidents who intend to destroy the reputation of Nkrumah. Captain was of the view that any president of the 4th Republic who dares destroy Kwame Nkrumah will fail as a leader. He praised Kufuor for being the best Ghanaian president of the Fourth Republic and justified that this was as a result of his preservation of the reputation of Nkrumah.
“Any President who despises Kwame Nkrumah will never have a successful tenure in office. If you try you will fail. That is why Kufuor never spoke against Nkrumah no matter their differences. He never spoke against him. I can tell you that Kufuor is the best president of the best president. That is the truth. Take it or leave it. There is no one like him. No leader should disrespect him Nkrumah” Captain Smart explained.
It is obvious that Captain Smart was throwing indirect salvos at President Akufo-Addo for creating Founders Day and trying to uplift the image of the Danquah Busia tradition ahead of Nkrumah. But truly can we say Kufuor is the best president of the 4th Republic? Already Captain has said that John Mahama is the best president in the 4th Republic when it comes to infrastructure.
