The debate as to who really deserved to be crowned as the VGMA Artiste of the year continues unabated with Kofi Kinaata claiming to be the authentic winner and not Kuami Eugene who got the plaque on the awards night.
Richie Rich, a veteran highlife artiste who is now known as Jeida Rich has thrown his weight behind Kofi Kinaata as the one who deserved to be named as the Artiste of the year and not Kuami Eugene.
Jeida Rich talking to Amansan Krakye on GBC Radio Central monitored by MyNews questioned the trend behind some of the awards given by Charter House who are organizers of the VGMA insisting that some of the awards does not make sense.
“The truth must always be said irrespective of how bitter it might be. I was expecting Kofi Kinaata to win the artiste of the year because how can he win Highlife song of the year and then Kuami Eugene is awarded as the Highlife artiste of the year, it just doesn’t add up.
“It must follow the trend but now the mind games are too much. But like it is normally said that the awards are for some people so they decide what should happen and if you don’t agree with them then you’ve got to organize your own.”
Jeida Rich formerly called Richie Rich featured on hit songs like Emmanuella by Ofori Amponsah, Akonta by Kofi Nti, Mercy Lokko and Araba Lawson respectively by CZar.
