The Ghana Police Service has assured Ghanaians of maximum protection as the New Patriotic Party(NPP) holds its Parliamentary Primaries today June 20, 2020.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will undertake the second phase of its parliamentary primaries today in constituencies with sitting MPs. The elections will take place at the constituencies where the political party has sitting Members of Parliament.
The party will also acclaim some 67 aspirants because they are going unopposed in their elections.
The Ghana Police Service has promised to ensure the safety of all Ghanaians as the governing Political Party goes to the Polls to elect their Parliamentary candidates.
A statement from the outfit of the Ghana Police Service “Police are prepared to provide adequate security for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Primaries which comes off on Saturday 20th June, 2020. Respective Regional Police Commanders are being supported by the National Headquarters to provide maximum security in this area of operation.All role players in the primaries are entreated to observe the rules governing the exercise and arrangements made by the Police. Any person who may have any grievance must resort to due processes at seeking redress”.
The Police cautioned the general public against disregard for the various safety protocols saying “Police expect full compliance with the mandatory wearing of face mask, face shield or any other face covering that covers his or her nose and mouth completely in the course of the exercise. It is our hope that organizers will also be mindful of the necessary hygienic protocols to stop the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Ghana”.
