Minister of Information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has said the President of Ghana, Nana Akfuo-Addo will address the country later tonight.
The President is expected to address the country on the rising number of COVID-19 cases in recent times.
Ghana has currently recorded 11,422 cases in the latest update provided by the Ghana Health Service.
Ghana’s death toll stands at 51 with 4,156 patients recovered.
The rising numbers puts fear in the people because the President in his tenth address mentioned that the cases in Ghana is among the best in Africa and that the country will be phasing out the various restrictions put in place to fight the disease.
This address will be his eleventh Address since the outbreak of the Pandemic in Ghana and he is expected to brief the country on the cause of the rise in figures and also provide a blueprint for the management of the cases to avoid further escalation.
The Ofoase Ayirebi lawmaker, however, did not state the exact time the President will be addressing the country.
He said while replying to a question on Twitter that read”Honourable @konkrumah, with all the recent increases in cases and the upward trend inactive cases, I believe we deserve a public health briefing on case management. Should we expect one soon?” that “Yes @CallmeAlfredo After @NAkufoAddo’s expected update later tonight, we look forward to providing answers to further questions on case management”.Kojo Oppong Nkrumah✔@konkrumah
