There was drama at an event to handover a Community Center to a Contractor at Asokre in New Juaben North which resulted in an abrupt end when a swarm of bees from nowhere invaded the events grounds and viciously stung dignitaries who had gathered for the event.
The programme which came to an abrupt end had in attendance the Member of Parliament for New Juaben North, Nana Adjei Boateng who is also a Deputy Local Government Minister, the Municipal Chief Executive – Comfort Asante, Chiefs, and few other persons.
In videos available to MyNewsGh, the bees joined in the event from a beehive which was on the ceiling of the building the event took place in.
In order to save their lives, the Member of Parliament and the Municipal Chief Executive took to their heels literally going on a full relay without batons to save their lives while the chiefs present used their Royal Regalia as a shield before they could run to save their lives.
The Member of Parliament and the Municipal Chief Executive left the scene unscathed.
Reports in the local media in the Eastern Regional capital suggests that four persons who were present at the event have been hospitalized as a result of the severe beatings from the bees.
Available information indicates that this is not the first time bees have dealt a great deal with people who use the venue for their events.
