The Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana has requested the government and the Ghana Health Service (GHS) to test all their members across the country because they believe some of them have been exposed to the novel coronavirus in line with their duty.
“I want the ministry to test all our workers across the country for COVID 19”, the National Chairman of the Association Mr. Edward Mensah told Kingdom FM in an interview.
The association has also taken on the government over its inability to provide them with Personal Protective Equipment(PPEs).
The Association disclosed that despite its contribution to the country, its members have never been provided with the Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) since the novel virus was imported into the country while they challenged the government to prove to them that indeed it has been able to make any such provision.
According to the association, if Nurses and Doctors are equipped with PPEs without thinking about them, then it is obvious that the government wants to kill them as they help the country in the fight against COVID 19.
Chairman of the association, Mr. Edward Mensah chided the government for taking workers at the mortuary for granted thinking they will at all cost work whether there are measures to protect them or not.
