Defeated Ashanti Regional aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Joseph Yammin has vowed to go all out and scuttle the National Chairperson ambition of Madam Betty Mould Iddrisu, an influential And highly respected lawyer and NDC member in the Ashanti Region and at the National level.
Mr Yammin, who is accusing the current National Vice Chairperson (and aspiring National Chair) of the party of masterminding his defeat during last Saturday’s conference insists that her election as substantive chairperson of the party will spell doom for the NDC in the 2020 elections, promising to ‘strip her’, and ‘show her pepper.’
“If the NDC elects someone like Betty Mould as National Chair then the party is not ready for power. I will go all out to campaign against her just like she has done to me to lose my bid as NDC Chairman”, he revealed on Okay Fm.
“She campaign against me. Once I lost, I have not been restricted and can go all out and campaign against her and tell delegates why the NDC cannot work with her as the chairperson. People of Ashanti Region will not support her bid because we want to win 2020”, he emphasized.
According to him, he will go all out and campaign against her and tell delegates why she is not fit for the position and will lead advance campaign against her in all constituencies across the region and the country. He said he’d have campaigned for her if she was running to retain her current position though.
“I championed her bid to be the national vice chairperson which is her perfect position but I do not think she is good for a chairperson. We cannot do a try and error. She has more baggage and we cannot carry that to 2020. If sought for reelection in her current position, I would have campaigned for but for Chairperson I do not think I will”, he stressed.
Meanwhile, threatening messages Mr Yammin sent to Madam Betty Mould Iddrisu a night before the elections a few of which read “Get ready for what you have sowed because you are going to reap it. What goes around comes around. Trust me ….the battle has just started” among others.
