Management of BlowChem Industries Limited, producers of Bel-Aqua mineral water, has alleged that some unscrupulous persons are out there to tarnish the image of the brand with a dubious video that is yet to be released.
According to management, “on the 24th of August, 2018, some individuals claiming to be journalists from an Accra based radio station threatened to tarnish the image of the company by circulating a doctored video and photos of our premises if they were not paid some substantial amount of money.”
According to the Communications Manager of the company, Emmanuel Quist, management called the bluff of the said journalists and refused to pay them.
They therefore organized a factory tour for journalists to enable the public to see at first hand the rigorous hygienic processes the company goes through to produce its products.
Journalists were taken around the various sections of the factory from the cleaning, purification, bottling and the laboratory departments.
Mr. Quist said, “the company is taking steps to formally inform the police so that the necessary investigations can be conducted into the said video.”
The video he said, revealed some edited footages of how the company’s flagship product, Bel-Aqua is produced.
“These so-called journalists have put together some bad videos and some pictures of some nonexistent stuff to paint our brand black just to create a bad market for us.”
He urged the general public to disregard the said video as it has no iota of truth in it.
“Management of BlowChem Industries Limited urges the public not to panic over those videos when they see them because they do not represent how things are done at the company. Our premises and production processes are duly subjected to the licensing standards of the Food and Drugs Authority, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Tema Development Corporation”.
