A Senior Journalist with the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) is advising the owners of Excellence In Broadcasting (EIB) Network to offload their Chief Executive Officer Nathan Kwabena Adisi aka Bola Ray for supervising a situation that has led to the retrenchment of his staff.
Her comments follow a MyNews report that that as at Monday, June 25, 2018, more than 10 persons were given dismissal letters from its Kumasi-based Abusua and Ultimate Fms in the ongoing rationalization in order to cut down staff strength.
Sources told MyNewsGh.com that there is strong possibility that some of the departments could be possibility shut down, with a lot more members of staff to be sacked while management is exploring the opportunity of mergers to save cost.
But Mabel Aku Baneseh, a journalist with Graphic thinks the first person who deserves to be booted out of his post is the CEO, Bola Ray.
She wrote on her facebook page:
“Any CEO whose tenure leads to massive retrenchment must be retrenched first! 😡😡😡My heart goes out to EIB staff who have lost their jobs.”
MyNews has been informed by a close source that barring any last minute changes, the staff of Kasapa Fm, Starr Fm, GH One Tv and Heritage Newspaper who may be affected by the ongoing rationalization would receive their sack letters today and one-month salary in lieu of notice.
Close sources, however, indicate the that the number of affected staff is likely to be less than 30 and occasioned by the fact that all the units in Accra have been assembled at Meridian House located on the Ring Road.
Part of a planned process that started in September 2017, executive management says the movement into one space would also afford it an opportunity to adequately scale down its human resource, where necessary and concentrate on meeting its stated goals with the right numbers. An internal Human Resource process to brief workers has been held while assurances have also been given.
“This is necessary as we have to stay competitive and winning. Growth, to our overall plan to become a leading business, is essential and we do believe that these steps would play a critical role in how we are able to navigate the business environment we find ourselves in,” Chief Executive Officer, Nathan Kwabena Anokye Adisi was quoted to have said in time past
