Some Executives of renowned mining and construction support services firm, Sandvik Mining & Construction (Gh) Limited today, June 27, 2018 paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace.
The executives include Mr. Nuhu Salifu (Sales Area Vice President), Mr. Samuel Brewu (HR/ Admin Manager), Mr. Seth Vondee (Business Line Manager C&S/Breakers), Mr. Isaac Tomegah (Market Analyst), Mr.George Antwi (Business Line Manager- Underground Equipment), Mr. Lawrence Baiden (Logistics / Inventory Manager) and Mr. Osei Kwame Panin (Product Support Supervisor).
The purpose of the visit was to show appreciation for the massive support the Company has enjoyed from the King since their operations in the Ashanti Region and Ghana as a whole. Sandvik, a high-tech and global engineering Group was founded in Sandviken, Sweden in 1862. Sandvik’s operations cut across 130 countries with about 46000 employees.

The Asantehene cheerfully received the group and encouraged them to continue their good work. He also pledged his unflinching support for the Company. Speaking to Mr. Nuhu Salifu after the meeting, he applauded the Asantehene for all the measures he has put in place for businesses, including Sandvik to thrive in the Ashanti Region.
On how the ban on galamsey affected their business, he said: “The ban on galamsey by Government is a step in the right direction. Sandvik doesn’t sell its products to illegal miners, he reiterated.”
