Nigerian-based Ghanaian actress Ella Mensah has revealed that her success in the Nigerian movie industry is hinged on the tremendous support she got from actor Frank Artus.
According to her, Frank Artus was ‘big’ in Nigeria and so all the producers listened to him and that is how come she is firmly grounded and rooted in the Nigerian movie industry now.
‘’ I did not face issues of sexual harassment and all that in the industry in Nigeria because of who I went through. I went through with Artus and at the time Artus was so big in Nigeria, he was bigger than all of them at that time so if Artus tells this producer she’s good to use her, they will use me because of Artus at the time you know because they needed him in their movies at the time and every movie he is in, he will make sure they give me a role’’ she said.
Touting her success in the Nigerian movie industry, Ella Mensah said she is always on the move shooting movies, adding that there are times she rejects some offers not because the money is not good, but because she doesn’t like the storyline
In her estimation, the Nigerian movie industry is far more rewarding than the Ghanaian movie industry.
She added that, Nigerian movie producers and directors respect up and coming actors and actresses and do not take advantage of their naivety in the industry by not paying for roles they play in their movies.
