Renowned Kumawood actor, Kwadwo Nkansah is blaming the decline in his fame to how the leadership of the Actors Guild treats him and his colleague Kwaku Manu revealing that they sometimes refer to them as fools.
Lilwin who is not enthused about insulting reference is accusing the Bill Asamoah led leadership of a lukewarm attitude towards their welfare and in some cases shut them down as though they were children.
According to the comedian cum musician, the incomprehensible attitude of leaders of the association is the main contributory factor for the near collapse of the Guild.
Most players in the industry have accused the leadership of the association but Lilwin’s revelation comes as a shock to most lovers of Kumawood movies.
Speaking on Light FM in Kumasi last Saturday in an interview , Lilwin noted that, though he and Kwaku Manu are paid up members of the Guild, the leaders don’t allow them to have their say on issues they discuss during meetings.
“This is why the Actors Guild is not functioning. He lamented”.
“What has prevented us from attending meetings of the Guild is that we can go but even when we raise our hands during discussions leaders will shut us up”. He said.
“Hey, heyyyyy, put your hans down and stop fooling. Don’t come and fool around this place”. He quoted one of the leaders as saying.
“Kwaku Manu and I are the victims. They claim we always say unintelligent things so they don’t allow us to talk at meetings”
Kwadwo Nkansah, however, indicated he is not bothered by their actions because he is already a star and no machinations can bring him down.
When asked who has been doing this to him, he disclosed that, all leaders (including Bill Asamoah the President) of the Actors’ Guild.
Lil Win also revealed a seeming hatred among members of the association because the old folks think the younger ones are not supposed to be heard.
