Two persons were on Tuesday remanded by an Accra Circuit Court for conspiracy, robbery and causing harm to one Daniel Kugbeshika at Otuplem near Amasaman.
Abraham Adjiri Allotey Quaye, and Maxwell Bortei, were alleged to have conspired and robbed Daniel of his Galaxy 8 Plus worth GH¢ 800.00 and an amount of GH¢ 3,000.00
They both pleaded not guilty to the charges before the court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh.
They have since been remanded to reappear on June 19.
The facts of the case as presented by Police Chief Inspector Victor Dosoo was that the complainant Daniel Kugbesika is a bulldozer operator, and resident of Fahuma near Amasaman, while the persons accused of robbery are unemployed and residents of Yahuma.
He said in October 2017, the complainant was engaged by one Nii Sackey Akrasi to grade his site at Otuplem Yahuma.
The Prosecution said whilst he was working on the land, the accused and their accomplices attacked the complainant with a locally manufactured pistol, cutlasses and other offensive weapons and robbed him of his Samsung Galaxy 8 mobile phone valued GH¢ 800.00 and cash of GH¢ 3,000.00.
He said the complainant was rushed to Adjen Kotoku Community Clinic by some good samaritans and later referred to Amasaman Government Hospital where he was treated and discharged.
A report was made to the Police and on April 25, Abraham was arrested and during interrogation, he admitted the offences in his caution statement.
The prosecution told the court that on May 28 upon intelligence, Maxwell was also arrested from his hideout near Amasaman as being part of the gang of robbers that attacked and robbed the complainants.
