Ghana’s Black Princesses will from June 11 step up their preparations for the upcoming 2018 Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup with a three-nation training tour of Singapore, China and Spain.
On May 21, Coach Yusif Basigi’s side began local preparations at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, Prampram for their fifth outing at the tournament to be hosted by France.
Beginning their preparations outside the shores of Ghana, the Princesses are expected to participate in an invitational tournament in Singapore dubbed the ‘Kubber Challenge Cup.’ It is scheduled for June 11-18.
The team will then head for their second invitational tournament in China slated for July 1-9.
These two tournaments have been paid for by their organizers with the Sports Ministry expected to only cater for the team’s per diems.
The Black Princesses will then head to Spain where they will hold the final lap of their preparations for the U-20 World Cup. The team will stay in Spain for two weeks – July 17 to 31. All expenses incurred during this period will be borne by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Ghana is scheduled to face hosts France, New Zealand and the Netherlands in Group A at the U-20 Women’s World Cup. The Black Princesses come against France in the second game of the opening day on August 5.
