– Police on Tuesday told reporters it was too early in the investigation to determine a movie.
Drake’s whereabouts at the time of the shooting are unknown.
Important Background
The shooting comes amid a contentious beef between Drake and Lamar that has seen the pair exchange strong accusations in diss tracks released over the last several weeks. Lamar has accused Drake of pursuing relationships with underage women and fathering a secret daughter, both of which Drake denied before claiming he and his team purposefully fed Lamar false information. On Lamar’s most recent single, a track titled “Not Like Us” that was released Saturday night, a Google Maps image of Drake’s $100 million estate was used as cover art. The inclusion caused some fans to label the Google Map location of the home as “Owned by Kendrick,” but the name has since been taken down. Other labels put on the house included “CertifiedKidLover,” “Kendrick’s Pool,” and “ChildMOE-lester.”
Tangent
Drake has been rapping about living in his affluent Toronto neighbourhood, Bridle Path, for years. He even wrote a song called “7 AM on Bridle Path.” Drake regularly posts pictures of his expansive Canadian mansion on social media. In 2020, the estate was featured in Architectural Digest. The ultra-luxury home includes an NBA regulation-size indoor basketball court, bespoke Bösendorfer concert grand piano, 44-foot ceilings and a chandelier made with more than 20,000 pieces of hand-cut Swarovski crystal. The master bedroom suite is 3,200-square-feet, 50% larger than the average Canadian home, with nightstands that include mother-of-pearl inlays, bedding with designs by Alexander McQueen and a 4,000-pound bath tub of faceted black marble.
