Keta (VR) Dec. 22, GNA – A total of 46 persons with disability (PWDs) within the Keta Municipality in the Volta region have received assorted items from the government to make them self-reliant.
Items presented included trucks, irrigation machines, freezers, laptops, industrial sewing machines, cash donations, hand sewing machines and others, under the auspices of the Department of Social Welfare of the Municipal Assembly
Mr Emmanuel Gemegah, the Keta Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), who presented the items said, it was government’s priority to keep extending support to people living with disabilities with the aim of mitigating their numerous problems in their various communities.

He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items for their own benefit.
“Use the items for the main purpose it was donated for and never try to sell any of them, which if caught, will lead to severe consequences,” he said.
Mr Gemegah also assured other PWDs who are yet to receive similar support, to be patient, as theirs would soon follow.
Madam Faustina Boklo, the Keta Municipal Director of the Department of Social Welfare, expressed excitement about the donations and thanked the MCE for his efforts and contributions to the Welfare of PWDs.
She indicated that the agenda would help change lives.
Madam Boklo further urged the beneficiaries to use the items for its purposes.
Some beneficiaries who spoke to the GNA, were excited about the donation and thanked the government for its support.
