Contemporary gospel singer and songwriter Nana Yaw Boakye Yiadom, known by his stage name, MOG, has said that he will sue WAEC for cancelling his final SSCE results in 2004.
During an interview with Doreen Avio on Daybreak Hitz, he narrated the incident that led to WAEC cancelling his final SSCE results.
According to him, school authorities caught one of his colleagues, Isaac Quayeson, selling leaked exam papers on campus. He(MOG) spoke words of encouragement to him when they took him away.
The authorities later called MOG for interrogation because his colleague had mentioned his name as an accomplice during his interrogation. His results got cancelled after they took the case to court. The court accused him of involvement in examination malpractice during his final Geography exam at Adisadel College.
MOG mentioned that the incident compelled him to stay home for four years before he finally continued his tertiary education.
The VGMA Male Vocalist of the Year for 2020 and 2021 revealed that he is looking for lawyers to assist him in suing WAEC and help him retrieve his results.
“They cancelled my results, and it affected me mentally and emotionally. I stayed home for four years before I went to university. I had to write entrance exams before I went to university. I want to get a lawyer and take them to court.”
“I want to get my SSCE results. No exam result shows that I went to Adisadel College all because Isaac Quayeson mentioned my name,” he lamented.
MOG is best known for his song “Be Lifted” and has collaborated with several gospel artistes such as Ohemaa Mercy, Joe Mettle, and Denzel Prempeh, among others. He was awarded the Producer of the Year at the 2020 VGMA.
