Christopher William Gerard Hughton is a professional football manager and former player. Born in England, he represented the Republic of Ireland national team.
After making his professional debut aged 20, Hughton spent most of his playing career as a left back.
Chris Hughton will be appointed the substantive coach of the Black Stars if nothing extraordinary happens during the next few weeks.
As per the initial agreement, Otto Addo’s tenure was supposed to end immediately after Ghana’s campaign at the world cup, regardless.
Chris Hughton was also supposed to apart from becoming the technical advisor, study the ship to help him become more adept at managing the team if appointed.
As I stated earlier, if nothing extraordinary happens, Chris Hughton will be announced the new head coach of the Black Stars.
The former Nottingham Forest head coach is working with Ghana as a technical advisor and has been present at their World Cup matches against the friendlies.
“One thing I’m confident of is the work Otto and the technical staff have put in. This team will be very well prepared and the players will give everything,” Chris Hughton told the Mail.
“We will have to play well and we’ll need a bit of luck. But we’ve seen in past tournaments that anything is possible for a country like ours.”
After the game the head coach has step down and Chris Hughton is taking over the coaching job.
