Ex-Ghana defender, Samuel Osei Kuffour has admonished the Black Stars not to focus on stopping Cristiano Ronaldo.
The four time African champions will open their Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign against the former European champions at the 974 Stadium on Thursday, November 24.
Osei Kuffour who played at Ghana’s maiden World Cup appearance in Germany 2006 spoke to the Ghana FA media in Qatar.
“We need to control our game and play to the best of our ability.
“We shouldn’t think about the Ronaldo alone, they have some quite great players, Silva, Fernandes, Joao Moutinho, they are all good.
“The focus should be on Ronaldo, it should be around the team, how we also approach the game that’s the most important thing for me.
“Because if you say Ronaldo, all the focus will go on Ronaldo and you leave the others and it doesn’t work for the team like that.
“It has to be collective effort, teamwork and it has to be concentration throughout the ninety minutes.” Osei Kuffour told Ghana FA media.
The Black Stars are paired in group H alongside Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea for the month long tournament.
