Cudjoe”/>
Franklin Cudjoe, the founding president of the Imani Center for Policy and Education, has claimed that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia does not require any financial “pimping” (inducement) to do his duties as the Second Gentleman of the nation, despite what the newest exposé by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas purportedly claims to have been said by Minister of State in Charge of Finance Charles Adu Boahen.
When Mr. Adu-Boahen met with the investigation team of Anas Aremeyaw Anas, who pretended to be Arab investors with millions of dollars to invest in Ghana, Mr. Cudjoe believes that Mr. Adu-Boahen was overexcited. As a result, he lacked tact and bragged about the President and Vice President, who were not aware of his dealings with the purported Arab investors.
“When making business deals, one must always be measured. Grandstanding should be avoided at all cost especially when it involves others who are unaware of the deals. Not sure Veep Bawumia needs financial ‘pimping’ from anyone. The Minister was too excited at the opportunity. Will wait for the full video though,” he commented on the yet to be fully aired exposé.
According to Anas Aremeyaw Anas, Charles Adu Boahen participated in influence peddling on how he was capable of meeting with President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia to expedite the work of the alleged investors using monetary inducement.
However, Mr. Cudjoe doubts Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia would require financial influence to facilitate such investments.
