In a recent interview, rapper Medikal said unequivocally that he is no longer active on the social networking platform Twitter and has no plans to sign up for the service again.
This was revealed in what looks to be a Snapchat conversation between him and the popular internet personality Kalyjay.
This week, Medikal, aka MDK, had his 320,000-follower verified (blue tick) Twitter account suspended.
Before his suspension, the ‘Stubborn Academy’ singer changed his Twitter handle to “Mr. President” and posted a photo of Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo with the hashtag “#NewProfilePic.” The exact reason for the name change is unclear.
Elon Musk, the newly appointed CEO of Twitter, tweeted on November 6, 2022, that “coming forward,” the company will not accept impersonation on the platform.
The South African billionaire, who is the wealthiest person in the world, said, “Any name change at all would trigger temporary loss of verified checkmark.”
Twitter has just revealed that the “verification indicator,” often known as the “blue tick,” would cost users $US7.99 per month.
This change was purportedly made to boost income at the social media behemoth.Medikal Twitter account suspended
