Is November the most anticipated month in 2022?
Yes! Wondering why?
That’s because the World Cup will begin on November 20, 2022.
Taking a close look at every country’s preparation towards the world cup recently, Ghana, who astonishingly knocked out Nigeria and made their way to the FIFA world cup, which is set to kick off on the 20th of the month of November, just released their budget for the upcoming FIFA world cup. Mustapha Ussif, who’s our youth and sports minister, just confirmed that the black stars of Ghana have been budgeted with a whopping $14,000,000.
During the floor of parliament event that took place this Friday, November 4, 2022, the youth and sports minister, Mustapha Ussif, made it official that the allocated budget for the Ghana black stars if they unfortunately get kicked out at the group stages as many suggest is 8.166 million USD, while $626,400 is suggested to cost if the black stars surpass their group stage to the knockout stages.
What if we once again make it to the quarterfinals in Qatar?
It would cost the government $719,600 if Ghana successfully makes it to the quarterfinals like we did in the 2010 World Cup that took place in South Africa.
black stars of Ghana break the curse and make it to the semi-finals, it would cost the government a whopping
14,184,100 USD in total. (Group stage + knockout + quarterfinals + semifinals = 14,184,100 USD)
How much more will be spent if we make it to the final?
$4,671,900!
Why is the government spending this huge amount on the black stars while our economy is in such a huge massacre?
Not Ghana alone; every other country participating will spend a lot on their national football team. Did you know that FIFA will give every African country that makes it to Qatar 2022 a whopping?
Ghana will be given 38 million euros if the black stars make it to the final, 27 million euros for the second position (the final), 24 million euros for the third position, and 22 million euros if they make it to the fourth place (the semi-final).
However, the Black Stars’ world cup isn’t out yet, and the vast majority of Ghanaian fans think Ghana won’t surpass the group stage in the world cup.
Though President Nana Addo believes Ghana will be the first African country to win the World Cup, do you agree with him?
What can be said about this budget for the Black Stars’ World Cup camping?
