Ghanaian rapper cum record label owner and artiste manager Bullet has recounted his bitter childhood experience after he lost his parents at different times.
Bullet claimed that his mother died due to childbirth-related complications in an interview with Accra FM. He also said that he did not have a strong enough relationship with his father, who denied being in charge of the pregnancy and raising the children.
Bullet who owns Rufftown Records claimed on Accra FM that his mother’s death was caused by problems during childbirth. Bullet’s father passed away before he reached adolescence, and he also admitted that he and his father did not share a strong enough bond.
In his words, his father denied responsibility for the pregnancy. They never had the chance to speak with one another.
“I have been living as an orphan since childhood. I wish I had grown up with parental love. I don’t even know my mother. I really want to know a little about her but don’t have a single photo of her.
When I grew up, I dug into some albums and I was shown only one single picture of her. It was black and white, and I only saw her cheek area, not her full face because the picture was very old,” he said.
Bullet, whose real name is Ricky Nana Agyemang said he was nurtured by his guardians from childhood till he completed senior high school at St. Augustine’s College.
The former musician who formed a formidable music group with Ahkan and togther they were referred to as Ruff & Smooth, added that his childhood experience was a painful one because he had no experience of parental love, and no siblings to enjoy their company.
“When I was hustling in the ghetto, I fell ill and I had to do surgery. Nobody visited me. The nurses kept asking me if I had anybody in my family or if my relatives did not like me,” he said as he struggled to hold back tears.
