As the president’s job approval tanks, so do Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia’s chances of leading the party, according to the analysis of polls conducted in April and October 2022. The president’s approval stood at 27% in April and disapproval, at 67%.
Currently, he enjoys 26% approval and 69% disapproval. In the same period, 57% of voters who disapproved of the president were voting for Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, that number has now declined to 42%. Whilst the president’s disapproval declined by just 1%, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia dropped 14% for those likely to vote for him.
In April, 32% of voters who disapproved of the president were voting for Vice President Dr. Bawumia.
However, in October, it declined by 6%. Allan Kyerematen and Kennedy Agyapong were the beneficiaries of Bawumia’s slide in the president’s job approval rating. Unless the president’s approval improves, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia is likely to lose.
