A section of traders at the Bantama Market in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region allegedly had a rough time on Thursday October 20 2022 when they engaged themselves in a free for all fight episode.
The alleged dirty blows took place when a petty misunderstanding was said to have surfaced between them.
Over the alleged comments that President Nana Akuffo Addo made at the Otec FM in Kumasi during his recent visit to the Region.
Nana Akuffo Addo was reported to have said that Ghanaians have their rights to vote out the Npp in the 2024 general elections if they think their roads are not constructed.
I don’t care if you vote for the Ndc in the next elections since your threats cannot scare me, the president was quoted to have made the comments.
But discussing the issue at the Bantama Market, Madam Adjoa Pokuwaa who identified herself as a supporter of the Npp alleged that despite the comments that the president made.
The Npp would win the next elections since if the power is transferred to the Ndc they (Ndc) cannot deliver.
However Afia Manu an alleged Ndc sympathizers who heard the news was not comfortable about Pokuwaa’s statement and also fired back.
Alleging that because the president was aware that the ruling government of the Npp was a failure in terms of national development hence Nana Akuffo Addo made the statement at Otec FM.
The reporter gathered that in the process of exchanging words other traders mainly women from both the ruling Npp and the opposition Ndc joined in the fray.
And as if the argument was just a mere joke it eventually turned into a free for all fight.
The issue took other traders a hell of time to control the situation otherwise a different story might have been told.
Meanwhile some business men who operate at the Bantama Market indicated that they would report the traders to the appropriate quarters for action if the issue continue again.
This is because the women traders are fond of using the market to engage themselves in party politics instead of staying focused to sell their goods, Mr Jones Prempeh a tyre dealer told the correspondent.
