President Akufo-Addo has been the talk of many Ghanaians in the past few months. The First gentleman of the land has been blamed for the economic crises that the country is facing. According to many he and his head of Economic Management team have failed the nation despite the many promises they made prior to the last two elections.
Apostle Kwabena Nyamekye, Chairman of the Church of Pentecost has also been trending for the past few days because of a recent activity he undertook. The Chairman and a couple of other religious leaders stormed a galamsey site and were seen praying for God to heal the land and renew the minds of those involved in galamsey. Many felt as religious leaders they should have spoken boldly against the government and called for tougher actions against illegal miners.
Well, President Akufo-Addo and Apostle Nyamekye will be meeting in Nsawam this coming Saturday. The church of Pentecost as part of its philanthropic activities is handing over a Reformation Centre to the country. The church believes that with the congestion in Ghana’s prisons there is the need to get a place to contain inmates and also teach them to reform them so that by the time they are released they become better people.
Many members of the church are praising the church for the provision it is rendering to the country with this reformation center. Some also argue that the church should have rather engaged in providing jobs for people instead of providing a prison. As the two leaders meet, it is expected that the man of God will speak on the issue of galamsey. He has been criticized on many occasions for standing aloof and watching the government do what it pleases.
As the leader of the biggest Christian denomination in Ghana many say the Pentecost church has power to get some of her requests granted. Do you think the facility is a great gesture?
