Happy Sports can report that Hearts of Oak will soon introduce Slavko Matic as the club’s new head coach.
Currently, Matich is being introduced to the Team’s playing body in preparation for his debut later today at Pobiman, the team’s training facility.
The 46-year-old has extensive experience managing clubs in Europe, Africa, and Asia and has a UEFA Pro Licence.
After a rough start to the 2022-23 season with the Bulgarian team Septemvri Sofia, he is presently unattached.
Since taking over in January 2022, Matic has led Septemvri in 29 matches, during which time the team has gone 12-12-3 (with 7 draws and 10 losses).
On Tuesday night, at approximately 8:00, the former Serbian defender arrived at Kotoka International Airport in Accra.
On Wednesday afternoon, he’ll meet the rest of the Hearts squad at their training fields when they face off against a lower-tier club in a scrimmage.
Matic has experience working in Africa; he was the head coach of Egyptian team Al-Nojoom FC for a brief period.

Against Sunday, the Phobians will take on AS Real de Bamako, and the former Spartak Moscow and CSKA Sofia star is likely to be in attendance at Accra Sports Stadium.
The first leg of the second preliminary round was played on Saturday in Bamako, the capital of Mali, and Hearts now find themselves behind 3-0.
As a manager, Matic has worked with the Serbian teams Napredak Krusevac, OFK Beograd, Novi Pavar, and FK Sloboda Uzice.
In Qatar, he led both Al-Shamal SC and Al Ahli Doha as a coach.
While in China, he worked as an assistant coach for both Nantong Zhiyun FC and Henan Jianye.
