The UEFA Champions League Drama continues with Napoli and Ajax facing head to head at the Amsterdam Arena to continue with matchday 3 of the group stage.
Napoli, who without remorse, whipped Liverpool, 4 – 1 are back again to the screens hoping to pull the same show against Ajax in an away match.
Ajax started the match with an early goal in the 7th minute by no one else but the amazing and stellar Mohammed Kudus of Ghana. They led the pace of the game but at the 18th minute G. Raspadori of Napoli was able to settle the scores.
Then there came another goal from Lorenzo at the 33rd minute to push Napoli to 2 – 1. The goals came running in at the 45th minute, 47th minute and the 63rd minute all against Ajax. Ajax were down by 4 goals and their fate just grew worse when a red card was served to Tadic at the 73rd minute to knock them down to 10 players.
Napoli sealed their fate with a finishing goal from Simeone at the 81st minute and that gave them the 3 points they needed to remain first on the Group A table. Kudus would be heartbroken because he has high hopes to win the group stage. However, this is just but on game, hopefully they would be able to do better in their remaining 3 matches.
Kudus has just successfully scored a goal in the last 3 UEFA champions league matches for Ajax. He scored against Rangers, against Liverpool and now against Napoli. All the same, despite his growing prowess Ajax still has 3 points on the table.
In the Eredivisie league, Ajax are 2nd on the table. They battling with AZ Alkmaar who is just one point away. Though Kudus has been playing better of late, today’s match will surely take a toll on him.
