The online opinion poll conducted by Global Info-Analytics which sampled a total of 774 social media voters between 17th and 30th September has revealed the sheer task facing the New Patriotic Party ahead of the 2024 elections.
The poll, which had 61% of the respondents identified themselves as NPP supporters, 20% NDC, and 9% floating voters, saw John Mahama leading Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia 56.6% to 30.8% if the 2024 elections were held today. However, if the race is between Alan Kyeremanten and John Mahama, respondents backed Alan Kyeremanten by 61% to 36%.
Though the sample does not truly reflect the current party affiliation of general voters, it provides useful insight into the possible behavior of NPP voters and sympathizers from Alan Kyeremanten and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia camps, especially on their likely voting intentions in the general election if their candidate is not on the ballot.
A grim reality that will have party leaders worried about their chances in 2024 unless they can find the magic formula.
