The time frame for the expected rains during the proportioned rainy season to end has exceeded drastically and has left many people questioning themselves and the meteorological agency why. According to the agency via a tweet on their official twitter handle denotes that, the extension of the rains after August elapsing through to September is as a result of a bi-modal rainfall pattern for the south (below latitude 8N). March to June is the major season and September to November is the minor. However, the start and end varies each year. Note that the names ‘major’ and ‘minor’ are not necessarily related to intensity of rain, they added.

As part of their mandate in updating the general public on the weather conditions is that of today, 1st October 2022 which get shared via their official twitter handle. According to their studies, intermittent rain is expected over the coastal and forest areas. Parts of the transition zone will experience thunderstorms this morning and in the afternoon. Brighter condition is forecast for areas in the north with a possibility of rain over few areas later in the day.
