Brazil delivered a dominant first half performance to beat Ghana’s Black Stars 3-0 in a high profile game played at the Stade Oceane in Le Havre, France.
Two goals from Richarlison in the 28th and 40th minute and a bullet header from Marquinhos in the ninth minute underlined Brazil’s brilliant performance to start the game.
Many Ghanaian supporters have complained lately about your list that you have made for this month of September, they complain about the non-convocations of Maajed Ashimeru, Salis Abdul Samed, and Alfred Duncan.
Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar assisted both Richarlison goals with Raphinha assisting Marquinhos opening goal.
Ghana struggled to create chances, especially in the first half and its best effort came in the second half when Captain Dede Ayew’s header hit the bar.
Black Stars Head Coach Otto Addo made several changes in the second half and had his team perform better in the half after handing Salisu Mohammed and Inaki Williams their debut games in the national team.
Thomas Partey has now played just 180 minutes out of a total of 630 minutes under Otto Addo. Unfortunately, the Black Stars can’t rely on him, and looking at the pool of options available I think Salis Samed, who has a 92.2% pass completion 10th highest in Ligue 1, should be called.
Without mincing words, Thomas Partey needs Maajed Ashimeru, Salis Abdul Same, and Alfred Duncan to realize his full potential as a link between the defensive baseline and the attacking spaces.
Baba Iddrisu needs proper elite infield-play coaching to become competently potent. He’s a great chap but for him to play well, he needs an optimal environment (double pivot). He doesn’t thrive when he has the burden of ball progression.
Samed this season has completed 50 passes under pressure, and Partey has completed 51. Once again, they’re similar.
Felix Afena-Gyan had just 13 touches of the ball in the first half against Brazil – the lowest by any player. The funny thing is the Cremonese forward had Ghana’s only shot in the half which came from near improbable range.
Tells you how bad the game plan has gone when Wollacott and Alisson have had more touches than a player supposed to be our outlet.
Iñaki Williams made some decent runs when he was subbed on but also had 3 blocked shots. It might be adrenaline but I thought he could have been a bit more composed when it came to decision-making.
