People have been wondering about the private lives of the British royal family for years. Because of their power and influence, they have mostly been able to brush their scandals and transgressions under the rug. It’s obvious that they do, however, harbor some sinister secrets that they would prefer to keep buried, as evidenced by the numerous affairs, incriminating photos, leaked messages, and leaked documents that have come to light over the years. Friend of the Prince Andrew
The disgraced prince is used to confrontation. He was discovered to be close pals with American businessman and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in 2011. He was wed to Sarah Ferguson, who exposed their acquaintance and said that her ex-husband had asked Epstein to pay off some of her bills. However, he afterwards claimed to have severed all contacts with Epstein Buckingham. In 2015, palace faced increased pressure to clarify their relationship with the American. The royal family has since made an effort to distance themselves from Andrew after learning of his troubling ties. Shortly after that, a civil lawsuit was filed against him, and it was announced that he would lose his military titles, royal patronages, and the right to use the title “his royal highness” in any official capacity. The issue is that nobody really knows the full extent of Andrew’s involvement with Epstein, but the public opinion still seems to be so strongly against him that he probably won’t be able to return to public life for a while.
Invisible Cousins
Since mental illness was not as well understood in the 1940s as it is today, the royal family saw it as an embarrassment when two of the queen’s first cousins, Narissa and Catherine Balzlion, were born with severe learning difficulties and were born in 1919 and 1926, respectively. As a result, Narissa and Catherine were never able to be a part of the royal family, and in 2011 an explosive documentary about them, the queen’s hidden cousins, was released.
Diana’s Life Story
Prince Charles and Diana’s marriage was a disaster, but because Diana spoke out about her private life, unlike many other royals, we know that she felt completely out of place in the royal family and like a prisoner held captive in a loveless union. As quoted by Charles: “I was crying wolf, I said I felt so desperate, I was crying my eyes out and he said I’m not going to listen you’re always doing this to me I’m going to go riding now so I threw myself down the stairs.” Diana recalled a time when she felt utterly abandoned by her husband. She ultimately collapsed at the queen’s feet, and Diana later revealed that Elizabeth and Charles responded to her cries for help in almost entirely opposite ways. The queen emerged from the incident horrified and trembling. She was so terrified. Diana reported having some bruises around her stomach, but when Charles returned from his horseback ride, he seemed unconcerned about the incident and continued out the door.
