The Ghana Black Stars will face Brazil and Nicaragua as part of preparations for the World Cup in November.
The matches have been slated for the end of September and Coach Otto Addo has already sent an invite to 29 players. Among these players is Bristol City striker, Antoine Semenyo. The player suffered an injury on his debut for Ghana in the World Cup playoff match against Nigeria.
Semenyo has only featured in a total of 126 minutes for his club after recovering from the injury. The club have taken precaution in managing his situation in order not to aggravate the injury. However, after being called up to the National team, it is expected that the player will feature in the friendly games in order to familiarize with the team.
Coach for Bristol City, Nigel Pearson has therefore sent a word of caution to the Ghana Football Association to be sympathetic to the player after his injury. The Coach said, “Hopefully the Ghanaian FA will be sympathetic to our requirements and the players requirements because I think Chris (Hughton) would like him for the World Cup…Common sense should prevail I think.”
The Ghana Football Association is yet to respond to his comment.
