A Ghanaian man has stunned television viewers with his jaw-dropping confession of giving away his “only daughter” with his wife to a stranger in exchange for money.
With a prize of $500,000 at stake, the unnamed man gave up the girl for adoption to someone living in the United States on the blind side of his wife.
Apparently, he had told his wife that he was sending their daughter to the US to live with his brother, unknown to her that she was never going to see her child again.
It appears trouble is looming as his wife has started asking questions about their daughter’s whereabouts after not hearing from her for years.
He owned up to his actions on TV3 while speaking on the private media channel’s tell-all programme “Confessions”, explaining that he is yet to tell her the truth.
He told the host, Ms Nancy: “I have been married for some years, and we have two children. A year ago, I told my wife that my brother in the States is preparing documents to take one of our daughters abroad because it’s not been good for us for some time. We were facing difficulties and all that.”
The unidentified man went on to say that he lied to his wife because strangers, not his brother, would be receiving the child.
“I didn’t tell her the actual thing. What happened was that I sent our daughter away, and she’s never coming back. I signed off the adoption papers.”
“There’s a man and his wife in the States who are finding it difficult to give birth. Somebody linked me to them. They told me they have half a million dollars in exchange for a child. This money could change my life and my wife’s life. Things were so difficult. And from where I am coming from, and my wife is coming from, there’s no help,” he confessed to Ms Nancy.
