Former president and presidential candidate for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has pledged to run a lean administration if re-elected as president of the Republic of Ghana.
The presidential contender claims that he will lead a very small government with significantly fewer resources than anyone in the nation has ever known. He pledged to reduce waste and practice austerity in all aspects of government operations.
He promised to operate a lean government and to examine the constitution from 1992. He went on to say that the reform of the constitution would cap the number of justices on the supreme court and address concerns about those who hold positions described in Article 71.
The NDC, he continued, “is also dedicated to the implementation of a revision of the 1992 constitution, which should, among other things, impose a cap on the number of justices on the supreme court and address the difficulties raised by Article 21.”
