Politicians are known for their smart ways of doing things. This is not to dent the reputation of the Vice President nor challenge his opinion on how much religion and Christianity has affected governance in this country. Religious leaders have contributed enormously to the progress of this country in ways that most organizations have not been able to.
At the same time, the religious groups have also been involved directly in most of the mess created by some politicians in this country. And this means they play roles in both instances. But why has Bawumiah become so interested in religious leaders and the use of churches to propagate his message?
According to Bawumiah, he is grateful to church leaders for the roles they have played in the country and in governance. Their moral teachings and opinions on how the country should be managed has helped shape the country. Majority of Ghanaians however think he is faking most of these comments to become the people’s man. Bawumiah is consistently accused of trying to blend in so that he can propagate his message to the people.
