A leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Gabby Otchere Darko has urged the people of Ghana to remain optimistic in the leadership of President Akuffo-Addo to bring Ghana out of its current difficulties.
He says the Government is working tirelessly to restore the economy back to the path of growth and prosperity and so Ghanaians should remain hopeful that things will soon change for the better.
Ghana is currently experiencing an economic crunch with rising debt levels, inflation rate coupled with a weakening currency which is crumbling against the major foreign exchange.
Government is currently locked in negotiations to secure a $3Bn economic bailout from the International Monetary Fund to help resuscitate the country’s crippling economy.
With this in mind, Mr Otchere, in a Tweet, says “Yes, indeed, Ghana is in crisis. Most countries are in crisis now though levels differ. What matters most is how we come out of it”.
“I remain an incurably stubborn optimist (based on knowledge) that Nana Akufo-Addo and his team will lead us to come out of this even stronger”, he added.
President Akuffo-Addo himself and several of his appointees have urged Ghanaians to keep faith with the NPP led administration as they work to solve the country’s economic crisis.
