In the ongoing GHALCA Top 6, Accra Hearts of Oak have conceded seven goals as against scoring a goal after playing two matches. In the opening game against Medeama in the tournament, Accra Hearts of Oak lost 3:1. In their second game, the rainbow club lost by four unanswered goals to Berekum Chelsea.

Must head coach Samuel Boadu be sacked?

On record, Accra Hearts of Oak opted to play GHALCA Top 6 with their youth side, Auroras. The line up in those two games clearly attests to that fact. No regular face was featured in those games.

The idea behind the decision to field young players is not provided officially, but an obvious inference shows how the club intends to give room and opportunity for the budding players. These players could only have glorious moments to justify their readiness through some of these platforms.

Indeed, some of the players have made giants strides in those two matches, which may have pricked the attention of head coach Samuel Boadu, who was at the stadium to watch the Auroras.

Players who have shown seriousness could be on their way to enjoy a stint with the senior side of Accra Hearts of Oak.

Did coach Samuel Boadu and the club get the decision right?

The decision to parade the youth side for GHALCA Top 6 has been met with mixed reviews among fans of the oak tree. Some believe the team should have used the senior side to honor the matches, and even as.a form of assessing readiness for CAF Confederation Cup games.

Be that as it may, the technical department – led by Samuel Boadu – have structured plans as to how to prepare for the upcoming season. The decision to not honor the off-season tournament with regular players is not out of order.
