Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak are set for a showdown on September 5, 2022 at the Baba Yara Stadium. The two teams will be playing in Ghana’s Champion of Champions put together by the Ghana Football Association.
The Champion of Champions in Ghana is competed by teams that won the Ghana Premier League and FA Cup. With the two coveted trophies, Asante Kotoko and their sworn rivals clinched them at the end of last season.
Asante Kotoko won the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League whiles Accra Hearts of Oak lifted the FA Cup. The two teams were deeply involved in the race for the trophy but a good start to the season by Asante Kotoko, propelled them to the apex of the table.
Accra Hearts of Oak appeared in the finals of FA Cup with Bechem, but the rainbow club squeezed their way through despite a lead by the hunters.
As they are preparing for CAF inter club competitions, both Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak will test their strength in the local Champion of Champions.
Accra Great and Asante Kotoko are currently engaged in preseason activities, with the former leaving for Sudan today, to continue the second phase of their off-season preparations.
