The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has entreated personnel to step-up efforts to ensure a significant reduction of fire and related incidents.
Deputy Chief Fire Officer (DCFO) Alhaji Gibril Nuhu, the Accra Regional Commander, said it was the mandate of the Region to reduce fires and asked that everyone, including the public, played his or her part responsibly.
He said there was the need for personnel to also join the crusade by educating people on the do’s and don’ts of fire prevention so that no fire would be recorded at all.
DCFO Nuhu said when this was effectively done, it would change the attitudes of the people and ultimately help in achieving the target of reducing fire by 80 per cent.
He assured that the Region was poised to support the public to assiduously work to reduce fires through its continuous and intensified public education.
