Multiple award-winning Ghanaian Gospel musician, Joe Mettle has taken to the micro-blogging platform or better still Twitter to dissociate himself temporarily from awards events in the country.
The musician made the revelation hours after Frank Kwabena Owusu, a radio presenter with Accra-based Hitz FM questioned why the artiste is conspicuously missing in action from this year’s Ghana National Gospel Awards.
In a quick response, the ‘Ye Obua Mi’ crooner who has had a really good music year explained his exemption from the nominees’ list.
He wrote saying; “Yes sir I requested to be excused from this year’s nominations.”Joe Mettle shuns awards
However, the FAQ is, if the exemption is solely for the Ghana National Gospel Awards or may be extended to other award schemes in the country like the VGMAs as he failed to give critical reason to back his exemption.
But as it stands, chances are higher that Joe Mettle will take a year break from all other awards events in the country and focus solely on his music business and other stuff and perhaps bounce back stronger next year to win more awards.
