Over the weekend, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology got the unique EchoHouse experience, thanks to one of the leading telecommunications companies in Ghana, Vodafone Ghana.
The telecommunications company sponsored a fun-filled day event that run into the night and saw thousands of students having the time of their lives while being treated to performances from R2Bees, Mr Drew, and Sefa while DJ Aroma was on the turntables with Mensa Junior providing the hype.
However, the biggest surprise of the night came when Darko Vibes and Tulenky mounted the stage to give the students back-to-back surprise performances.
Marketing experiential events such as these, which are planned and executed by EchoHouse, were a regular staple on campus, however, the COVID-19 pandemic brought everything to a standstill.
With students back on campus, the Vodafone Ghana and KNUST partnership sprung into action again to give the students some opportunity to blow off steam at the Vodafone Turn Up event that was held at the Royal Parade Grounds.
During the day, the students participated in various games, while also supporting their colleague entrepreneurs who had set up shop with support from Vodafone Ghana.
Another brilliant and uniquely Vodafone aesthetic that made an appearance at the Vodafone Turn Up event was the Vodafone TikTok Studios. The studio first made an appearance at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards where celebrities such as KiDi, Cina Soul among others created TikTok videos for the newly created Vodafone Ghana TikTok account.
As the sunlight gave way to the night, the atmosphere was charged up with electrifying performances. Leading the way was the Vodafone Ghana Next TurnUp Star, Yaw Jen who performed some of his original music to the pleasure of the students.
That was before Mugeez, and Omar Sterling who make up the hip hop and hip life duo, R2Bees turn up the heat at the venue. Darko Vibes, Tulenkey, Mr Drew, and Sefa also got the students jumping, dancing, and having fun with hits after hits.
The Vodafone Ghana TurnUp was just the needed energy to shake up KNUST after two years of just getting by and the KNUST Students Representative Council (KNUST SRC) played a key role in pulling this off.
