The annual BET Awards ceremony was held yesterday, Sunday, June 26, 2022 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
The prestigious award ceremony which celebrates Black excellence in music, acting, sports and other fields of entertainment was hosted by actress and singer, Taraji P. Henson for the second year in a row.
The 22nd award ceremony saw high-profile act across the entertainment industry receive trophies for their work. The 2022 BET Awards saw top American act, Kendrick Lamar win the ‘Best Male Hip Hop Artist’ of the year.
Kendrick Lamar who recently blessed the airwaves with a studio album, “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers” was in a tight competition with Drake, Future, Kayne West, J. Cole, Jack Harlow and Lil Baby.
The BET Awards is an American award show that was established in 2001 by the Black Entertainment Television network to celebrate African Americans in music, acting, sports and other fields of entertainment over the past year.
