Yesterday was a great day for the people in the Akyem Abuakwa traditional area. The 2022 Ohum Festival was celebrated on the 25th of June, 2022 at Kyebi and it was fun, entertaining, enlightening and educative as well.
The Okyehene of the Akyem Abuakwa traditional area or the Paramount Chief of Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin told the Akyem people to come back and help develop the country.
Okyehene told Ghanaians, especially the Akyem people to remember where they hail from or their roots and contribute to the development of the paramountcy.
Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin went ahead to tell his people that, of course they can help develop other towns where the live but they should not forget where they started or came from.
And one thing he also revealed was that, building a nation is not solely the government’s duty but it is also the responsibility of everyone that lives in the country.
Okyehene said, “When you go out there and succeed, don’t make a difference just where you are; come back home and make a difference too. It should not be the sole duty of Government to develop our nation.”
The Akyems use the Ohum festival to thank the God blessing their land with the Birim River.
