The first flight of Ghanaian pilgrims for this year’s Hajj is expected to depart the country from Tamale Airport for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today, June 20, 2022.
More than 3,000 Ghanaians are expected to attend the month-long spiritual exercise, which is part of the Five Pillars of Islam.
Some members of the Hajj Board are already in Saudi Arabia’s two main cities to ensure all logistics and facilities are ready ahead of the arrival of the Ghanaian pilgrims.
Preparations include obtaining a visa and following rules set by the Saudi Hajj minister.The Hajj period 2022 will last from July 7th to 12th.
