UTV Journalist Yaa Konama has dropped fresh allegations on Achimota School and Wesley Girls Senior High Schools. According to her, parents paid GH12,000 to Achimota school while Wesley Girls charged GH7,000 as bribes for school placement. This is in the midst of free education. She added that, after investigations, names were mentioned but up till now, nobody has been officially charged for that massive corruption.
” We were told that school placement is free. However, Achimota school was charging 12,000 Ghana cedis while Wesley Girls took 7000 from parents. When the National Investigations Bureau commenced investigations, names were mentioned but they’re all Walking freely ” Yaa Konama alleged.
Yaa Konama made this known on live TV while hosting the United Television morning show. She further reacted to a failed GALOP training for teachers which was costed around 1.2 million dollars.
” Up to now, there has been no training. Where is the money? With all due respect to Minister of Education. There is rot in our education system. You must act ” Yaa Konama added
